Too bad I don't have a pic of the bathroom before it was demo'd!
The old tile was pretty hideous!
The color was just a shade darker than the wall blue!
In addition to that...
there were some pretty serious molding
and rotting going on behind the tile...
the previous owner just had regular sheetrock around the shower!!!
We ended up demo-ing everything...
all the tile around the shower, base trim tile,
vanity and counter top, and the shower head!
We spent couple of weekends working on it...
it turned out well... we love its new look :-)
Before -
The ugly tile has been tore down at this point...
Doug is removing the sheetrock around the shower valves...
Before -
We thought about keeping this old vanity
and just find a granite countertop along with a new sink for it...
Then we found out that
this vanity was custom made and it's not a standard size
we would have to special ordered the granite countertop
and that just drove the cost sky high!
So bye-bye old vanity!!!!
In process -
We tore down all the sheetrock and put up concrete boards...
picked out the tile we liked and here they go...
2 of 3 faces were complete in this picture....
it wasn't too bad.. just cutting the small pieces took a long time!
After -
What a make-over!
We used the same greyish light blue paint for the bathroom...
it matched really well with the shower tile and floor tile...
bought a new vanity and granite countertop...
all pre-fab'd for around $700 from Lowe's!!
installed new shower valves, spout and shower head...
installed new faucet, towel ring, towel bar and toilet paper holder!
finished the baseboard trim
and painted the wall-cabinets white :-)
