Crawfish Boil :-)

To prep ourselves for a fun French Quarter Festival weekend....
we had a crawfish boil on Friday :-)

Doug volunteered his place and

our teammate Wynn was the master chef!!!

This was actually my first crawfish boil...
you can buy the crawfish boil seasoning from any grocery store,
mix that with water and bring to a boil,
then dump in the mesh bag full of veggies
(garlic, yellow onion, mushrooms, celery, red potatoes, corn),
then drop the basket of crawfish in, along with sausage,
and place the bag of veggies on top...
pretty easy.. just gotta have the right tools & equipment!

We ate and ate and ate....
Totally not good for my cholesterol,
but it was uh um delicious!!

They were very good size crawfish.. HUGE! Lots of meat!

Gotta have the right equipment... pot and the Cajun Crawfish Paddle!
That's exactly what it says on the paddle!

Live crawfish...

Dead crawfish with veggies and shrimp!

Dumped the veggies on one table..
they all soaked up the seasoning really well...
the mushrooms were super tasty!!

47 lbs of crawfish and some jumbo shrimp...
this is how we eat down in the bayou!

Happy early bday to Doug too!
Got him a "Berry Chantilly" cake from Whole Foods..
umm.. one of my favorites... so good :-D
What's on the cake?!? Haha.. I know.. we're such engineers!
